HPP Self Fusing Tape

HPP’s Reinforced Self Fusing Tape is a custom-manufactured dielectric grade silicone rubber tape.
Self Fusing Tape is reinforced with sinusoidal glass yarn to control stretch and increase strength. Self Fusing Tape also
conforms easily to complex shapes and forms a permanent bond within a short period of time at room temperature.
This tape provides superior performance in a single wrap that other tapes would require multiple wraps to

- As a general rule, four square inches of tape should be used for each pound of weight to be supported in static load.
For best results, 15 PSI of pressure is recommended. In some cases, more pressure will be needed ( e.g., rigid irregular surface).
50/50 Mix of isopropyl alc ohol/ water is recommended for cleaning surfaces for bonding. In some cases, primer will be necessary to achieve best results depending on the surface to be bonded.
Ideal tape application temperature range is between 70 degrees to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. If applied below or above the recommended temperature, the tape should be tested before application.
Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive to surface contact. Using a squeegee or roller with firm pressure will aid in better surface contact.
At room temperature, 50% of bond strength will be achieved after 20 minutes. Maximum bond strength will be achieved 72 – 96 hours after the application. You may be able to accelerate bond strength by raising temperature for short period of time (e.g., 150 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour)
